Product Innovation and Creativity Center (PICC)
Located largely at the center of Toomey Hall, Missouri S&T’s mechanical and aerospace engineering complex, the Product Innovation and Creativity Center (PICC) gives students a place to enhance their leadership, teamwork and communications skills while tackling real-world, hands-on design engineering projects. The center houses the Havener presentation hub, Orlofsky design studio, Dorf prototyping loft, Boeing CNC machining center, Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers (AMAE) conference room, Clubb rapid prototyping lab, multimedia conference and presentation room, fabrication corner, student machine shop, and GTA office.
What is PICC?
The Product Innovation and Creativity Center (PICC) is where students enhance their leadership, teamwork, and communications skills while tackling real-world, hands-on engineering design projects.
The PICC is central to the modernization project and central to the culture Missouri S&T aspires to create an environment that fosters research, application, partnership, innovation, and design.
What does PICC do?
The PICC houses virtual reality and rapid prototyping laboratories, multimedia conferencing, and presentation rooms, and new computer-aided design and engineering facilities. These facility improvements are complemented by an experiential curriculum that includes innovation seminars with corporate executives and other mentoring opportunities with successful Missouri S&T engineering alums.
The PICC is a vital link in the educational process of Missouri S&T students, providing our graduates with the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in private industry.
How to get involved?
Missouri S&T brings real industry projects to undergraduate and graduate students in mechanical and aerospace engineering, where integrated teams, a faculty advisor, and an industry mentor develop workable solutions.
